John Williams and The Planets

We ate and watched episode of Eureka. I took pictures of my empty wine bottles (wines that I like) before throwing them out. Then on the way to the Houston Symphony we stopped at Freebirds and had a burrito. We then made it to the Houston Symphony to hear the Planets and some John Williams pieces.  The concert began with Star Wars Suite and it is the same crappy one that everyone plays, that the main melody is played so many times you just want the piece to end.  The next piece was the Close Encounters.  Now that was incredible.  Especially the heavy chromatic parts.  The last of the Williams pieces in the 1st half was ET. It was the last 15 minutes of the movie which was continuous music. The 2nd half was The Planets. I always like to go hear the planets live.  This time it was accompanied with real Hubble Telescope images.  The piece itself was played to fast.  You do not hear the nuances.  They did play it much lighter which I liked and not too string heavy.

Thanks Mom for taking me to the Symphony.  It was fun.
