It all started because my monitor finally died Sunday night. It was a really good CTR Sony Triton flat screen monitor I had for over 8 years. 6 months ago it would go fuzzy than be back to normal. So George and I went looking at Best Buy to see what I will get when the monitor finally dies. So I was working on the computer Sunday night and then the screen when black and that was finally it.
So on Monday, I went to Best Buy and bought the monitor I picked out months ago. It is a Samsung PX2370 23" LED monitor. It looks amazing. It has 5,000,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio which is way over the LCD ones have.
So while I was there I took a look at "Heather" (the name I would call my future netbook which was originally going to be the MSI Wind last year but recently is the Toshiba). I figured since I have some money saved it was about time to get her. So I bought the Toshiba NB305-N442 Netbook in blue (which seems to becoming my 2nd favorite color with all the blue items I seem to be buying).
So introducing Heather.
Isn't she pretty? Also the keyboard is so responsive and with each key having substance unlike most laptops which are springy. It is like the difference between having a keyboard with weighted keys and having a keyboard that is not (which is springy and not like a real piano at all).
So if that was not enough I went to the AT&T store took a look at the Samsung Captivate Smartphone for another time. I have been wanting a new phone for a while and when the iphones came out I had thought of wanted something like that but I want it completely customizable and with apple stuff that is never the case. (Which is why I run Linux Mint. Totally customizable.) Then the Androids came out based on the Linux kernel and I when hum. So then the Samsung Captivate came out and read a ton of reviews which actually beat the iphone 4. When I went into the AT&T store last week to look at it, one of the employees said she has an iphone the the Captivate is way better.
Android Better Than iphone
So I left the store this time with the Samsung Captivate currently running Android 2.1 Eclair.
So a day of buying cool technology. Now to set it all up.
