Lunch with Friends

Today lunch was at Casey's with my friends Melanie and George. A really good seafood restaurant. I got a grilled catfish and shrimp. It is very good.

I finally ordered a couch and a recliner at Big Lots. They are really nice and very comfortable. It is fake suede. It looks like suede but it is really easy to clean.

Kimberly then wanted to swim on in the ocean (the Gulf) to feel the warm water which is different than the Pacific Ocean. She went out and had fun but the problem of living where there are big storms is the stuff they carry the beach. So there was kelp on the beach and floating in the water which makes it difficult to swim around without the kelp tangling up around your legs.

Then Kimberly, George and I went to each dinner at the Mosquito Cafe. I also invited my friend Ron since he lives across the street from it. The interior of the place reminds me of the restaurants in Huntington Beach or Laguna in California. I know the owner of the restaurant so whenever he is there he always comes by and says hi.

I then took Kimberly to 21. A cool bar with nice oversized couches. There is a really good band that plays there on Thursdays. They play mostly covers and they play them well. We danced some West Coast swing, free style and just being silly.

Lunch on the Island

There are restaurants on the island that I go to regularly. Since they are not chains the food tends to be really good. So while Kimberly was here I wanted to take her to them. This also give me a chance to go through them so you know them also. Today we had lunch at one of my regular restaurants which is Salsas. A really good Mexican restaurant. Kimberly and I then went to the college and did music together. She sang and I played the piano which lasted for about 3 hours. We then had dinner at the Golden Corral buffet. (I know this one is sort of a chain but it is a good buffet).

Kimberly Arrives

I went to the airport to pick up one of my close friends Kimberly. I took her to the really good Chinese Restaurant, Fung's Kitchen. I then took her to the Melody Ballroom. Tonight was ballroom dancing such as foxtrot, waltz, cha cha and 2 step. And also some east and west coast swing. It was a lot of fun.

A Perfect Date

I had my 1st date with a cute girl I met at the Melody Ballroom last Sunday. I took her to Fung's Kitchen Chinese Restaurant. A great restaurant with real Chinese food and a nice decor. We also had a great conversation. We then went to the movies and saw Batman Begins. A good movie. I really like the music scored by Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard. And the evening ended with a nice long goodnight kiss. A perfect date.

Youth Orchestra

I went to hear the Charles Wesley Singers and Youth Orchestra of the Academy of St. Cecilia from Damascus United Methodist Church in Damascus, Maryland. The concert was held at the Moody Methodist Church. It was an great concert. The choir and orchestra played really well. On the program were movements of Faure's and Rutter's Requiem. Also "River Songs" and "Camp Meeting" for orchestra alone and then some anthems and spirituals which included "Ride On, King Jesus." It was a good concert.

Melody Ballroom

This is the 2nd Sunday that I went to the Melody Ballroom for the swing night. It is always a lot of fun and I have danced with some good dancers. The dance floor is huge and they play a nice variety of swing tunes.

Art Walk

Ron, George and I went to see the art walk downtown. It was pretty good. The art this time was more muted in color and I am big on color. As always, I ran into lots of people I know.
