Happy Birthday Web Log

I started this web log 3 years ago as a way to force myself to see something new when I lived in Marin County.
1st Years Web Log's Birthday Entry

By the 2nd years web log birthday, I moved to another state, became a professor at a college teaching music and made some new friends.
2nd Years Web Log's Birthday Entry

By last years web log I met Jennifer. A sweet, caring, cool, intelligent, calming and very pretty girlfriend who really compliments my personality and makes dating easy and so much fun.
Last Years Web Log's Birthday Entry

This year I am still with my perfect girl, still a college professor and I am beginning to compose compositions again. When I 1st started at the college, being in charge of the music department, I had to resurrect the department from almost nothing to something. This took a couple of years and a lot of 12 hour days. So this year I am starting to focus on what I like to do the most which is to compose. Off to compose.

AD and JK Going Back Home

They wanted Italian again so we went back Mario's but this time for just lunch, not the buffet. And then took them to the airport. They said they really enjoyed Mardi Gras and were surprised they got so many beads. It was nice to visit with my brother and I am glad they came down.

AD and JK at Mardi Gras

AD and JK really wanted to party and do stuff so we, along with Jennifer, went downtown again and saw the Z Krewe 11th Z Processional at 1p. We then ate at Yaga's. Then listened to the bands and walked around catching beads. I would get a lot of complements on my king hat. One band on the balcony somehow dropped a cardboard letter 'N' over the balcony onto the street before we got there. The singer noticed me and my hat and asked me to pick it up and go in and take it to him. AD and JK got a picture of it and the singer gave me a CD of him and his band. We then watched the Knights of Momus Grand Night Parade at 6:30p. (More like 7:30p by the time it got downtown from the seawall). A good parade, good beads and we were really cold. So I took them to the Sky Bar. Jennifer and I got somosas and sushi. Then back to my place to talk a bit before going to bed.

AD and JK in Galveston

For brunch, I took AD and JK to Mario's for the buffet. It includes salads, pasta, fish and pizza. I drove them down the seawall to the east end. I then took them to see Galveston College and show them around. I showed them my office, the steel drums and the stage. AD and I did some improv. AD played the piano and I played the drums. Then we had an improv on 2 pianos. It was really fun. We then when to Houston to pick up Jennifer and then down to Galveston to meet George to eat at Salsas. We the all when downtown to experience Mardi Gras and to catch beads. I did catch some unique ones.

AD and JK in Houston

I picked up my brother (AD) and his wife (JK) from the airport. It was a late flight in and they wanted dessert. So I picked up Jennifer and ate at the House of Pies which has really good pies. I really like their key lime pie. Then dropped Jennifer off and took AD and JK down to Galveston to stay at my place. It is great to have them here.

DD at Mardi Gras

We headed to the seawall for the 1st parade of Mardi Gras. The Mystic Krewe of Aquarius Mardi Gras Kickoff Parade at 12p. It was a fun parade but it was cold. So we went to the Olympia Grill to get some soup and warm up. And to eat lunch. We went to Academy Sports & Outdoors to get some gloves and they ran out. Brilliant. We then went to see the fire truck parade at 3p. It was ok but noisy. We then went to Target to get some gloves and they ran out. So DD mentioned Home Depot. I was like ok why not. And they had some. Garden ones but they did work and kept our hands warm.
Then we went to the Krewe of Gambrinus "The Spirit of New Orleans" Parade at 6:30p. Nice parade with cool floats and of course caught beads. We then went to the Z Krewe party for dinner and threw beads off the balcony. It was not as cold as last year and we brought better beads. It was a lot of fun.
